Biodiversity is a fundamental parameter for assessing the health of habitats, directly influencing the balance of the ecosystem and our collective well-being.
Therefore, since 2025, Sammontana has launched a concrete project to protect biodiversity in collaboration with 3Bee, a nature tech company that employs a scientific and technological approach to environmental regeneration projects. The project aims to restore natural habitats, increase the presence of native species, and promote long-term sustainability.

Oasi Sammontana
Oasi Sammontana, located in Persea, Sardinia, aims to protect pollinating insects and contribute to biodiversity regeneration by planting 1,500 nectar-producing plants. Once mature, these plants will potentially produce 215 kg of nectar annually, providing a refuge for numerous wild pollinators.
Throughout the project, the plants will be cared for by expert cultivators to ensure their growth and ecological effectiveness

Oasi is established in a heavily human-impacted area where over 80% of the land is dedicated to agriculture. This makes Oasi a crucial point for biodiversity support, offering nourishment and shelter to numerous wild species. The area's microclimate, influenced by climate change, has necessitated the integration of biodiversity spaces to ensure ecosystem services such as regulation.
Thanks to 3Bee's advanced technology, Oasi can be monitored in real-time. Each user can follow the project's evolution and the impact of the plants on biodiversity through interactive maps and widgets.

Le piante, siano esse alberi o arbusti, vengono adottate e curate da un "grower" appartenente al network di 3Bee. Tale figura, definita come coltivatore di biodiversità, ha la responsabilità di gestirne lo sviluppo e garantirne una crescita ottimale. L'obiettivo di questa attività non è soltanto quello di favorire i naturali processi di selezione genetica, ma anche di assicurare resilienza e corretta crescita delle piante in caso di eventi estremi, come periodi prolungati di siccità o altre anomalie ambientali.
Lo sapevi che il nettare prodotto dai fiori varia in base al clima e alla qualità del suolo? Un ambiente sano e ricco di biodiversità garantisce una maggiore produzione di nettare, migliorando la sopravvivenza degli impollinatori e la qualità del miele.
Il nettare prodotto è calcolato analizzando l’età della pianta e ipotizzando una crescita di 20 anni. I primi 5 anni si ipotizza una generazione di nettare molto contenuta e poi un regime di generazione del nettare dopo 5 anni di età.
