SAMMONTANA ITALIA'S COMMITMENT TO NATIONAL AND LOCAL PROJECTS

The "Lidi Italiani" Project

Summer by the sea is a prime time for enjoying ice cream, and Sammontana has always been committed to ensuring top-quality and pleasurable experiences during this period.

Since 2018, Sammontana has launched the Lidi Italiani project in collaboration with the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa. The initiative aims to protect beaches while educating people about sustainable and responsible consumption.

Each Partner Beach, selected based on precise sustainability criteria, enhances its environmental efforts by purchasing ice cream whose carbon emissions are fully offset and by using innovative equipment, including high-efficiency refrigerators provided by Sammontana. Additionally, Partner Beaches use informational materials to encourage customers to consume responsibly even during their leisure time.

This initiative allows consumers to enjoy Sammontana’s high-quality products while supporting the company’s and its partners’ environmental commitment. To date, the project has involved over 200 beaches across Italy, with plans for growth and expansion into social initiatives.

Partnering with Legambiente for Cleaner Beaches and Glacier Preservation

Since 2017, Sammontana Gelati all’Italiana has partnered with Legambiente to raise awareness about protecting Italy's beaches, forests, and glaciers.

The "Sammontana cleans the beach near your home" campaign has become an annual event where volunteers, driven by love for the planet, remove plastic and waste from some of Italy’s most beautiful beaches.

In 2019, Sammontana expanded its collaboration with Legambiente through the Carovana dei Ghiacciai project. Developed with the scientific partnership of the Italian Glaciological Committee, this initiative highlights the state of glaciers and the impact of climate change.

The campaign involves a multi-stop journey across the Alps, during which experts monitor and study the phenomena affecting glacier conditions.

Supporting the Ronald McDonald Children's Foundation

Bindi has long supported the development of Ronald McDonald Houses, which provide shelter and assistance to sick children and their families when medical care is far from home. Bindi participates annually in a Charity Golf Tournament, with all proceeds donated to the Foundation.

The Right to Happiness with Dynamo Camp

As part of its ongoing commitment to the community, Sammontana partners with the Dynamo Camp Foundation ETS. This organisation aims to restore self-confidence and improve the quality of life for children with serious or chronic illnesses and their families through free Recreational Therapy programmes.

Supporting Local Communities

Sammontana Spa Società Benefit, deeply rooted in Tuscany, prioritises preserving and supporting this beautiful region through social initiatives.

One of its longest-standing commitments is to the Meyer Children’s Hospital Foundation in Florence. For over a decade, Sammontana has supported major projects related to scientific research and welcoming hospitalised children and their families.

Additionally, Sammontana has partnered with the ANT Foundation for two years, actively supporting initiatives like A Night for ANT. Sponsored by the City of Florence, this fundraiser supports the Bimbi in ANT programme, which provides free specialist home care for children with cancer, enabling them to receive treatment in the comfort of their homes.

Sammontana also supports the Municipality of Empoli, where its headquarters are located, through various activities, such as the annual Natale a Empoli, featuring a carousel in the city centre.

Moreover, the company promotes sports, music, and cultural initiatives, reflecting the values close to its heart.

The Sweetness of Inclusion

Bindi collaborates with PizzAut on the Sweetness of Inclusion project. PizzAut is an innovative social inclusion model featuring pizzerias run entirely by autistic individuals, supported by neurotypical staff. Founded by Nico Acampora, the father of an autistic child, PizzAut aims to create opportunities for these individuals. Bindi donates part of the proceeds from its millefoglie kit to the project and supports several locations in Lombardy.

Fighting Waste and Supporting Communities

The companies under the FdA Group brands have long been active in helping vulnerable individuals and communities, focusing on the second UN Sustainable Development Goal: ending hunger.

Their activities include donations and product gifts to organisations working within local communities. Notable collaborations include the Carlo Besta non-profit organisation (Child Neurology Department), which supports families hosted by the institute, and the Broletto Foundation, which aids in housing Ukrainian refugees.
